The Platinum Signature DACs use custom made, laser trimmed bulk metal foil resistors that are made specifically for use in the Signature DAC Module. The lower noise and distortion allow the dynamics to come to life.. More “room” for the music to fill. The top end is much more open than with the original DAC modules, and the bass response is more musical and more resolving.

Signature 32x Filter

More Details

The signature 32X digital filter is twice what the 16X filter is. Twice the processor and twice the memory results in more than twice the performance.  The 16x filter supplied in the stock DAC III is a huge improvement over commodity digital filters like the Burr-Brown DF1704, but is now bested by the new Signature filter.  Hours of careful design and hours of listening have resulted in another leap in performance and we are now proud to offer this user installable upgrade for any Platinum DAC. This upgrade offers several advancements:  

• It will support a 27 bit DAC (the 16x is limited to 25 bits)
• It has a steeper brickwall filter slope
• It has a flatter pass band and deeper stop band
• It has less image frequency leakage
• Increased compatibility with -6 db
• It has quieter MuMetal shielded clocks

Signature 384 Upsampler

The 384 kHz Upsampling replaces the Input Board on the Platinum DAC. Besides the normal input features, it:  

• It upsamples 44.1, 88.2 and 176.4 to 352.8 kHz at a resolution of 32 bits
• It upsamples 48, 96 and 192 to 384 kHz at a resolution of 32 bits
• It upgrades the SP/DIF inputs (coaxial and balanced) from 192k to 384 kHz
• It provides an optional USB input
