Gold MVC Preamp

Preamps have been made for years and there is one for every budget and audio taste. Just as soon as you want to try a bi-amp or tri-amp configuration in your system you wish you could adjust the volume of each channel independently. Maybe you want to add a sub or fool around with surround. Your stereo preamp just will not do. You see no options. Home theater products have lots of channels and sound like - well you know. Once again MSB felt the same frustration and has designed an 8 channel preamp of the highest quality. The Gold Preamp is an amazing product. It does not use a standard volume control chip like our competitors, but uses a unique DAC design to create a digitally controlled stepped attenuator style volume control. In our extensive listening tests we used a cable as our reference. No, nothing sounds better than no preamp at all, but we have pushed the sonic envelope to the point where blind A/B testing could not consistently tell the volume control from the cable. This excellent volume control is remote controlled and will allow one pair of inputs to be mixed or duplicated to provide many identical outputs, each with independent trim capability.

With the DAC option

There is also availible for this product a multichannel DAC. The DAC has just one input which utilizes our MSB Network. To use this DAC for multichannel decoding an MSB source or MSB Network Output Upgrade must be used. This DAC is optional, the product can be used just as a preamp.
