DAC IV Power Base Comparisons Back

Standard Power Base This remarkable power supply has seperate torroidal transformers for each voltage supplied. The torroidal transformer produces a very small amount of magnetic radiation. The Power Base includes a positive and negative analog supply and a digital supply to run all the digital processors. But it also contains an entirely seperate extra clean digital supply to run the sensitive digital clocking circuits and interface devices. Each of these supplies is regulated and filtered in the box, so no noise is introduced into the product. This supply will not operate the MSB ADC. This Power Base can be upgraded. A digital only supply can be added to operate an MSB Transport. These supplies are completely independant and their combination do not degrade performance. An optional front panel control can also be provided. This option moves the power switch from the back panel to the front panel.

Signature Power Base The Signature Power Base is similiar to the standard power base but has doubled the power rating of that entirely seperate extra clean digital supply. It also contains additional EMI and magnetic shielding. Notice the amazing drop in the DAC noise floor, almost 20 db! This Power Base can be upgraded with the same options as the standard supply.

Diamond Power Base The Diamond Power Base is similiar to the standard power base but has twice the power rating of that entirely seperate extra-clean digital supply. The analog supplies are quite remarkable in the Diamond Supply. Rather than the high quality rectifiers used in our other supplies, the Diamond uses super-fast Silicon Carbide Schottky Diodes. These vacume tube like devices turn on and off instantly with zero reverse recovery current. The Diamond also contains additional EMI and magnetic shielding, with each transformer hand shielded. Notice the amazing drop in the DAC noise floor, a wopping 22 db lower than the standard supply! The Diamond Power Base comes standard with the transport supply and the power switch can be placed on the front or the back of the unit for your convienence.
